Bournemouth’s biggest private landlord has appointed a former charity worker to enhance its service to its most vulnerable residents.
Alan Kenny has a long history of working with poor and vulnerable people, having served as a community worker in Sheffield, support worker for the local YMCA and as Community Support Manager at Bournemouth Churches Housing Association.
He joins affordable housing provider Dave Wells Properties as Partnerships Manager. As well as playing a key role in facilitating the renovation of older properties, he’ll be exploring opportunities to work in partnership with charities.
He said: “There couldn’t be a more exciting time to join Dave Wells Properties.
“The company is investing an average of £12million per year renovating older properties and building new affordable homes.
“It’s fantastic that the company recognises the help it can provide the charity sector with their affordable housing needs.
“I’ve been very impressed by the ethos of this company – they give employment and training to people from all walks of life; including those who have had a hard start.
“They do a lot to support the local charities and as well as providing homes to people in employment, they are the last line of defence against homelessness for more vulnerable tenants.”
